Confusion about $100 credit application vs. $300 free trial offer β what should I do?
Hi everyone (and Google Cloud team),
I'm very new to Google Cloud and this is my first-ever hackathon / challenge (super excited about the Gemini Live Agent Challenge though!).
Three days ago I applied for the $100 Google Cloud credit through the contest promotion link. Today when I signed into the Google Cloud console for the first time, I see it's offering me the standard $300 free trial for 90 days.
I'm worried about:
1. Will accepting / activating the $300 trial interfere with or cancel my $100 contest credit application?
2. Should I wait for the $100 decision before doing anything, or is it safe/better to just start the $300 trial now?
3. If the $100 gets approved later, can both be combined or will one override the other?
I don't want to mess up my eligibility for the contest or waste anyone's time. Any official guidance would be hugely appreciated.
Thank you so much in advance!

Hi there,
Good question. We want to be fait to all participants and offer as many participants credits as possible. If you completed the form and told us you don't have an account, we would direct you to sign up and get $300 in credits. We request you not do the free trial and the $100 credits as you're already getting triple the value and to allow more participants a chance to get credits. I hope this helps and best of luck!

Hi everyone,
I registered for the Gemini Live Hackathon and received a GCP credits promotion code. However, when I try to redeem it, I'm facing an issue that says, "The promotion code that you entered is not valid." Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? I would appreciate any help.
Thank you!
